Baby's 1st (well, 2nd) Picture!!!

On Monday I had another doctor's appointment. The doctor tried finding Baby's heartbeat with the doppler device, but he couldn't. So, he did an ultrasound!

Baby had it's first picture when it was only 5 1/2 weeks old and looked like a little ball of cells. So, this is Baby's first picture where he/she looks like a baby! You can see the little head on the left and the leg and foot on the right. Baby was moving an awful lot, but the doc managed to get this pic while Baby was still.

My doctor did an ultrasound two weeks ago, too for the same reason. He cracks me up, as he barely knows how to operate the machine...!!! I try to sit there patiently as he fumbles around, clicking buttons that make the entire picture disappear at times! He used to be at a different clinic, but is new to our clinic and is still "building his practice" here. I hope he doesn't have any "fumbles" while I am delivering! He seems like a nice enough guy. I am tempted to search for him on the net and make sure that I don;t find anything incriminating! I am sure he is just fine and has a great reputation.

He also gave me another prescription for atibiotics for the sinus infection that I have been battling. I am starting to feel better. And, the great news is that my morning sickness is getting a TON better, too! It seems I was just in my co-worker's office crying about how horrible it was and how I didn't think I was going to make it! I think Jason is happy to have more of his normal wife back, too! Well, closer to normal!

Jason has been making excellent progress on the floor in the living and dining room area - such a hard worker! We'll have to post the pictures of his progress. Pretty floor here we come!

Newsflash...

We're expecting!!!

The rumors are true, there is a baby on the way! For our 2-year wedding anniversary, we gave each other a baby! :-) I am due on September 9th, so I am almost done with my 12th week of the pregnancy.

We are ecstatic and very excited to welcome our little one into the world! We had an ultrasound at 6 weeks to determine the due date and Jason and I got to hear the heartbeat - wow, what a miracle! I did get to see a quick ultrasound image a couple of weeks ago, too at the doctor's office which was really neat! Little arms and little legs moving around already at 10 weeks old!

We feel very blessed that God has given us this great miracle. I have been pretty sick - it should be called "24/7 sickness" instead of "morning sickness" in my opinion! I am starting to feel better now, though.

We will start to post pictures as I grow, as so many of you are out of town!

We thank you in advance for your support and prayers as I grow this little miracle and as we prepare our lives and home for his/her arrival!

The Junior Mint

So, I am sitting in bed this morning trying to wake up, when Jason exclaims, "there is something on the couch!" "What?" I say. "There's something on the couch. It's on your cushion." (Yes, we have "our" cushions - don't laugh. We sit next to each other on the couch. Jason gets the left cushion and I sit on the middle one. This has resulted in a very firm right cushion...)

I jumped out of bed to check on the only 7-month-old leather couch that we are still making payments on... Upon examining the cushion, I immediately remember last night. Our favorite show, Prison Break (yes, I realize that Prison Break has been mentioned in the last post as well), was on last night. It is a very intense show and does require a certain amount of mindless anxiety munching. We usually have popcorn, but junior mints were last night's anxious "pop-in-your mouth" food.

Yes, a Junior Mint was melted by my butt last night on the couch leaving a rather gooey and unpleasant sight. While wiping away and releasing the fragrant mint smell, I commented "this is why we bought leather!" It came right up! (A little mint fragrance does reside!)

I checked my lounge pants - oh yes, quite the remnant of the mint there, too! And, since I threw them on top of my dresser last night, Junior Mint was cleaned and Pledged off of wood this morning, too! Throughout the cleaning, I was actually tempted to eat a few more!

One of my favorite parts of this story is that I usually heed caution when eating Junior Mints as my step-mom, Jeanne, tells quite the rendition of my Dad's mishap in the 80's with a Junior Mint and a white suit at the movie theater! (My Dad would have totally fit in with the Miami Vice crew!)

It has happened to me, now - a Junior Mint incident. Next time you are enjoying the delicious dark chocolate covered delectable treats, be careful - those little mints can make quite the surface area of mess!
