My Birthday

The beautiful lilies that Jason gave me for my birthday. I don't let him buy me flowers on holidays, as they are WAY too expensive. But, I do appreciate the pretty flowers that he can find in season around my birthday. My favorite gifts from Jason are the beautiful and thoughtful words that he takes time to write me in my cards. We are really big on writing in cards to each other! Precious gifts!

The classic preggers pic in our kitchen! I was 30 weeks pregnant on my birthday. Cute new shirt courteous of MomJ for my birthday!

We had to take advantage of the pretty flowers that bloom in our backyard. We were blessed that the previous owner has perennials that come up for us to enjoy. Neither of us know how to or are really interested in planting new things. We just enjoy what comes up naturally!

My love and I on our way to a Mexican restaurant for my birthday meal! We celebrated with Blizzards from Dairy Queen (my all-time fav, even when I am not pregnant). We went to dinner on Saturday. We enjoyed the food and beautiful weather while dining on the restaurant's patio. Who doesn't love Mexican food on a patio, especially when you have a "buy one get one free coupon" for your dinner!?! Did I mention the Blizzard was "buy one get one" too! Birthdays, any day for that matter, are so much better when you can save money!

Thank you to all of you who sent birthday wishes and cards! I felt very loved and blessed!

A post that should have been in the past...

Me and my Anderson sisters! From L-R: Autumn, Trinity, Summer, Moriah, and Brittany. They did a great job dancing at their recital - I LOVE to watch them perform! I never scanned pics from my Mom's recital...naughty me. But, at least I am finally getting these images posted. Only about 3 weeks late. It was fun to have these gals come over last week for the 4th. Last year when they came we did lots of dancing in our living room. They taught me part of their hip-hop dance. I wasn't quite fit for lots of dancing at this visit!

These are my adorable little bros - Easton and Dawson. They are #7 and #8 in the lines - 6 girls followed by the 2 boys bringing up the rear! I am suprised I got them to stop long enough for me to snap this shot - they are active little boys!

We neglected to take pictures last week during their visit... I guess I was too preoccupied trying to show my mom things and get info out of her (i.e. show off all the baby's clothes and the great garage sale deals, how to get really tough stains out - some of which were on the baby's clothes, how to fix my husband's jean's button, what meal to make next, etc.)

Tomorrow's posts (if I can find the time - dang, have I been busy at work!): My Birthday and our Bible study baby shower that took place last night!

Ahhhhh...vacation

Hello, strangers! I am at Jason's work having my first encounter with the internet in seven days. It has been a nice seven days, too. Busy, but nice. The Andersons (with the exception of my step-dad, Andy, who had to stay home to work) were here from Monday evening until yesterday afternoon. There were ten people in a house that is large enough for more, but usually only sees two of us. We got rained out on Tuesday, so it was a day filled with Shrek the 3rd video game-ing, book reading, card playing, and DVD watching for the kids. My mom got some serious sewing done while she was here (can't wait to post the pics of the baby's curtains and crib skirt.) I assisted in measuring and cutting (man, I forgot THAT is why sewing is so time consuming...) I was also reminded about how cooking for that many people makes you a slave to the kitchen. Unload dishwasher, prepare food, clean up mess, put away leftovers, do dishes that don't fit into the dishwasher, prepare food for next meal that needs to be done in advance. Use the bathroom, then come back to prepare the next meal of the day. I don't know how she does it. Especially since she is truly the "mother duck" and her ducklings of all ages tend to follow her around. I think that occasionally she is able to use the bathroom alone these days now that my youngest brother is four...I am not sure though.

Anyhow, the house seems eerily quiet now. The fridge is still stocked with food. I have a little more cleaning to do when I go back home. The bathroom mirror has a lot of toothpaste splats on it and there are quite a few loads of towels to do. All in all, it was fun to have them here.

I hope you all had a wonderful Independence Day and took the time to be thankful for all that you have and were able to spend the time off with people you love.

I am going back home to enjoy the rest of my vacation!!!! See you Monday or Tuesday! I will have to post the pics of the beautiful lilies that Jason gave me for my birthday!

Have a Happy 4th Everyone!!

Amber and I wish everyone a very happy 4th of July...family, friends, and blogger friends!

Remember to say a prayer for our soldiers safety, who are fighting for us so that we can continue to have these celebrations! They and their families sacrifice so much for us.....and for that we thank them!

May God continue to bless America.....
