Trip

I am leaving at 4:30 a.m. tomorrow for a work conference in Florida. I wish I could say I am thrilled to be leaving. But, I am a little nervous with the little girl on the way, know that I will miss Jason TERRIBLY, and know that it will be tiring. But, it will be a nice change of pace, I guess.

Keep me and my travels in your prayers!

We go to a dinner theatre on Saturday for a matinee courtesy of Jason's parents - so excited!

See you next week!

Ultrasound Results...

Here is a picture of our BABY GIRL's feet! :-) Aren't they adorable!?

Her whole body - the Technician commented on her nice long legs (for dancing, of course!)

I thought she was kicking me when I felt this certain sensation. I came to find out that she is doing this when I feel those really strong movements - sitting on her knees, head-butting me!

And, she must have sensed our excitement and slight anxiety, as she told us "peace!" Can you beleive this!?! I have been told that we should sumbit this pic to a magazine or something as it is SO cute!

We got about 9 pictures in all - our Technician was very sweet and generous. Baby Girl was not too cooperative at all, though. We looked for her "gender" many, many times for over an hour. She did not want to open her legs up! But, with many "peeks" from the Technician and a peek to the Radiologist, we were told with about an 80% chance that she is a girl! We are very excited and already purchased her a few items of clothing at garage sales!

It has been so fun to imagine and dream about our little baby girl! We can only assume she'll have curly hair and big eyes!

We love her so much already and were so thrilled to get this "sneak peek" at her! We haven't decided on a name yet, and will most likely not share her name until we meet her in person!

Test 1-2, Testing 1-2

I'm just running a test to see I can post video on our blog. Today Amber and I find out the sex of our baby and eventually we would like to post video clips of it, and we're trying to figure that portion out.

This is a little movie I made in my office. The song is something I grabbed off of my playlist on my computer...no meaning behind the song.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Like a kid 3 days before Christmas

That is how I feel. I am SO excited for our ultrasound on Friday - the time won't fly by fast enough. I feel like I am going to get to open the biggest present that I have been staring at under the tree in anticipation! I stare down and see my tummy and get the wonderful and occasional kick - I want to open the present so badly - the ultrasound is like getting a glorious peek!

Easter 2007

Sarah getting those carrots out of the roast with determination!

Dale and Dad/Rich carving that ham!

The traditional Sankey Easter picture! This was my fourth Easter with them - it is crazy to look back at the pictures from the first Easter and see how little the kiddos are!

Here I am - I was 18 weeks pregnant! I swear I have gotten bigger this week already!

Here we are - I think this would technically be the first picture of our "family!" I haven't been in front of the camera for a while I guess!

Have a great weekend, everyone!!!

I'm cracked

Last Thursday, I bit down and kind of screamed. I had been feeling a lot of sensitivity to cold drinks for a while, and had occasional pain when I bit down. So, when I got home from church (we eat fast food at the church every Thursday when we lead our young married couple's group), I had Jason look at my teeth. I was alarmed again when Jason pointed out a HOLE in one of my molars! I thought I felt something funny with my tongue on that tooth and even pointed it out to my dentist in October. Aparently, nothing was really wrong.

Freaked out, I called the dentist the next morning. She got me in for a cleaning and exam on Monday, where I found out the good news and the bad news:

Bad news:
-I do have a hole in one molar.
-I have/had a huge crack in the molar next behind it (which was actually the source of the pain.)
-I need a crown, a really freakin' expensive crown.
-He ran out of time and didn't even do a real exam on me. I will have to have one with xrays when baby is born.
-I can't/won't have an xray since I am pregnant (this would have helped.)
-I really shouldn't have work on my teeth since I am pregnant.
-I really don't like having dental work (who does?)
-I have no dental insurance (once again, who does these days?!)

Good news:
-They can (and did this morning) a temporary "build-up," similar to a filling, until I have the baby and can have the crown put on.
-I can save up until October to pay for the crown!
-They got me in quickly due to a cancellation for the "build up"
-I can feel my mouth again and am no longer worrying about biting my own tongue or drooling accidentally on myself. (I do have pain in my jaw and where he stuck the huge needle in).
-My midwife said it was okay to have the work done - it is good that it I am out of the first trimester.
-They could still numb me even though I could not have certain drugs/anasthetics.
-The hole in my molar that I thought was causing the pain is NOTHING! Not a cavity, just a hole that might be due to my fruit consumption.
-He filled said hole today for FREE just so I didn't have to feel it with my tongue anymore (this bugged me a lot.)
-I had a new dentist, and he was really great and actually explained things to me! Hopefully he stays at our clinic!

And, the REALLY great news: I can feel the baby move a lot these days! I feel blessed that I can feel baby move, as I know some first-time moms don't feel it for another few weeks. But, I feel baby more each day and can feel what has to be actual KICKS! I LOVE it, and am so excited for when Jason can feel it, too. He tries every day, but to no avail so far.

That is all for now!

Happy Easter!!!

The Best of Craiglist "Headlines"

Jason and I were having some good laughs over these "headlines" from Craigslist last night, and we decided to share them all with you!

We peruse the site quite often, and like sending each other posts like this:

Glider chair and abdomen - $150

Area Rug - $100 - Brand new and matches everything! We are only getting rid of it because it doesn't match our couch.

Lighting/Chandler - $15 I am actually going to look at this chandelier after work. Jason wanted me to ask if the "chandler" came with a Ross, Rachel, and Joey! I was really hoping it came with a Phoebe - no such luck, though!

We hope that you have enjoyed our little "headlines!" Feel free to share your favorites!

Misc.

My co-workers and I were just talking about food. I now want a plate of: calico beans, cheesy potatoes, and some type of JELLO/fruit/Cool Whip salad! I already was kind of hungry, and now I suddenly feel starving! Does anyone want to host a potluck in the near future? :-)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am officially in my new office. They made us all pack up and move to the next hall. Kind of a pain to do all of that. I am glad that I was given the office I am in - closer to the bathroom, across the hall kiddy-corner from Trisha, and staring at a wall rather than directly at a person. My old office looked out at an open area - I do miss the brighness. Oh, and remember the Christmas "re-gifter?" She has a loud and obnoxious voice - now only two doors down! I think my office door might be shut more often now... Overall, the new office is much more noisy now that I am around more people. I cut up my old "Grand Masters" calendar and posted the pictures around my office. My office was "cheapened" a bit I think by taping these to the wall, but they will make me happy. Just like the pictures of family I have around the office and the picture of the view from our roon in Cancun right by the phone. Sometimes I have to stare at that one while talking to annoying students...

Have I told you all how much I love art? Looking at the cheap prints makes me want to go to a museum! We haven't been to one since we went to Chicago almost two years ago for my birthday. I think there are two things to do before the baby comes: go to a museum and to a concert (I think Kelly Clarkson would be my pick).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The season finale of "Prison Break" was on last night. They really left us in suspense - not even a glimmer of what it to come in the fall. My fear now is that they are going to cancel the show (I was traumatized when NBC quit airing "American Dreams" without announcing that it was the series finale or "wrapping up" the show's plots.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We had a great weekend. Two couples from church came over with their baby girls for dinner. Everyone seemed to enjoy my potroast, and it was fun to see babies in the house! Other than having Trisha and her hubby over (and other than family) these have been our only guests! And, no family has visited since we did the majority of the work in our house.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We have been busy looking on www.craigslist.com for a crib, changing table, glider, and other things. No luck yet. I was going to look at a crib one day after work, but the woman sold it during the day! We are hoping to find some great deals so we can save money. I plan to take off a few days this summer to go garage sale-ing - I need to ask around to where the good neighborhoods are!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am going to a conference for work in Florida in late April. Too bad we don't have millions so Jason could come with! It probably wouldn't be too much fun for him since I would be at a conference every day all day, anyway. But, I had originally scheduled my ultrasound for the Monday after I get back, but I have decided to re-schedule it for Friday, April 20th. So, 17 more days until we know what the baby has "down there!" :-) I am very excited! I picked up some paint samples for the room already!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That's about all for now!
