The pregnancy books talk about how I might expect to be forgetful and absentminded. I have noticed that mid-conversation or mid-sentence I sometimes forget what I am going to say. But, today tops the cake - I completely forgot my purse at home (well, at least I hope it is at home...) and I didn't realize it until 45 minutes later when I arrived at work. Now I am perplexed as to how I managed to forget it when I usually set in right next to my "work bag" and grab both as I head out the door. I did remember my work bag and lunch bag and a bag of something to return... I was in my normal "hurry," but nothing special. So, I hope I don't get pulled over and I am glad that I have a half of a tank of gas. I think I might have to go outside and look in my car again...just in case. My purse is much to big to "fall" between the passenger door and seat, but I might get through the day easier knowing it is not sitting out there. I drove here without a phone, but it bothers me knowing that I have to drive home without my phone.
What else to say...Jason finished the floor in our daughter's room! My Mom mentioned she bought "my daughter" some clothes - this totally threw me for a loop! I call her "my baby" or "our girl," but it seems weird to think we have a "daughter" and a "daughter's room!" Jason and I painted it a pretty pretty pink on Saturday and he busted all holiday weekend to re-do the closet (yes - two rows for clothes!) and lay the floor. After replacing the trim and giving it a nice cleaning, we can assemble the crib! Yay! We bought the crib used (oh yes, Craig's List) about two weeks ago and are excited to assemble it. We also found a changing table - it doesn't quite match, but it will work. Now, what will probably be the hard part, finding a dresser and possibly a book shelf. It would be nice if we could find some pieces that seem to somewhat go together. Ah, what kid has a perfectly matching bedroom set!?! Jason did a great job - it looks great already in there - so fresh and new!
I also purchased some fabric and am going to attempt to sew some curtains and a crib skirt. The fabric is a sheer, so I am scared of it... My Mom and that fam are coming over the 4th of July, so she will have to help me!
I think that is all for now! Maybe we will post some preliminary "nursery" pictures... I am excited to share, but part of me wants to wait to post until it is totally ready!

That is SO funny - I know exactly what you mean about not noticing you didn't have a phone on the way there, but when you realize it... the drive home seems scary and lonely!!! Who knows how we survived without cell phones. :) I always remind myself, "Sarah, you survived in high school, you'll be fine."
Hope your purse is safe & sound at home!
Oh, and I'd LOVE to see the pink walls!! I love pink, and have TOYED with painting my bedroom a very pale pink.
It sounds like a lovely nursery! You can maybe find a dresser at thrift stores...look for ones made of wood, not particle board, and if you get a low one, it can double as a changing table. Don't worry about it matching the other pieces. Just paint it a pretty matching/contrasting color. Maybe a creamy white?
Isn't it fun planning for the little one?
Jennie - It sure is fun! Delightful, actually! Jason put the trim on last night and we gave a cleaning to the floor. I started hanging her little clothes in the closet and placed the little shoes I have gotten her at garage sales on the shelf...SO fun!
I have been checking at the thrift stores for a dresser we can paint. They still have dressers that need a lot of worked marked between $100-200! I am hoping to get one at a garage sale or craigslist for less. The trouble is that I work and I think the good dressers are sold by the time I get the sales on Saturdays!
I like your creamy white idea or maybe even a buttery yellow?...
